In the time that I’ve been alive, I have been faced with the overwhelming reality of death many times.  Although it is a common experience for young people, the death of my grandparents was particularly hard on me.  It was the death of my grandfather when I was nine that really piqued my interest in the paranormal because of the fact that both my cousin and I had seen him since his passing.  Our parents did not believe us, of course.  After this, though, I took special interest in the pursuit of what happens after death. The literal breakdown of the word poltergeist is derived from the German words “poltern” (to make noise) and “geist” (ghost).  When put together they mean “noisy ghost,” which is exactly what a poltergeist is.  Most commonly, spirits communicate through EVPs (electronic voice phenomena) and manifestation.  Continue reading
